Oe is really an amazing place. It is also
a place that I'm pretty sure doesn't get a whole lot of caucies
dropping in. A group of school kids saw us and looked as though
they hadn't seen a foreigner too often (if at all) in their neck
of the woods. They also referred to us as "Gaikokujin"
which is a very polite and formal way of saying Gaijin (foreigner)
that I did not hear anywhere else. I heard "Gaijin" plenty
though. Usually along with "ooki" (big) and "hana"
(nose).
